| Homeopathy
Homeopathy is a method of healing which stimulates
the body's inherent knowledge to heal
itself. The name Homeopathy is taken from the Greek word for 'similar
disease'. It is based on the 'Law of Similars', or in other words
'like cures like'. The idea is that the substances that can cause
the disease patterns in a healthy patient can (in minute doses)
bring about healing in someone who is suffering from the same disease
patterns.
Homeopathy recognises that illness is expressed by the body through
symptoms and these are taking into account rather than suppressed.
It works to stimulate the body's own healing powers to rebalance
any of the energy systems within the body to its optimum levels,
thus treating the whole person rather than just a part of it.
Homeopathy in practice
Homeopathy can be used to treat almost any complaint ranging from
sudden illness like flu, colds, sore throats, and stomach upsets
to long term illness such as asthma, allergies, arthritis, IBS,
ME and menstrual problems. It is also very effective in treating
emotional conditions such as long terms grief after a bereavement,
stress and PMT. It is safe to use for babies and children with problems
such as teething, shyness in school and exam stress.
Homeopathy is often turned to after long term
medial treatment has failed to produce effective results. It can
be safely used alongside conventional medicine.
Your initial consultation fully explores your physical and emotional
symptoms which are then matched to a remedy. The resulting actions
of the remedy are carefully monitored and adjustments made accordingly
at the following visits.
